Marketing Department

As winter weather approaches, it is important to prepare yourself. Staying warm and safe in the cold weather can be difficult, so here are some tips to keep in mind as the temperatures start to fall!

  • Everyone working outside or inside a building dress appropriately for the cold (wear a hat, knit mask, gloves, waterproof boots, etc.)
  • Drink warm sweetened drinks
  • Keep extra clothing for any emergency
  • Know how to recognize the symptoms of cold stress, prevent coldness

It is also important for employers to keep their employees safe if they spend a lot of time outdoors. Employers should:

  • Train workers
  • Provide engineering controls
  • Implement safe work practices
  • Consider protective clothing that provides warmth

Prevention is possible through training and being able to monitor and plan for horrible weather.
