What is stack testing? Does your facility need stack testing? If so, where can you go to get it? Read on to expand your knowledge and learn how August Mack can help!

Stack testing is a procedure used to sample a gas stream from a single sampling location at a facility. This type of testing is used to determine pollutant emission rate, concentration, or parameter while the facility is operating at conditions that result in the measurement of the highest emission or parameter values (prior to any control device) or at other operating conditions approved by the department or the U.S. EPA.

These tests usually have three sampling runs for a specified sampling time span. Additional conditions may be required by applicable rules, permit, or enforcement order. Testing should be performed using sampling and analytical procedures approved by the department or the U.S. EPA. A Stack Tests can also be known as an "Emission Test", "Source Sampling Test", "Compliance Test", or "Performance Test".
