GHS Safety Data Sheet: Section Three Requirements

The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) Safety Data Sheets (SDS) has 16 sections in a set order, and information requirements are prescribed. In Section Three of the GHS SDS, the required information is related to composition and information on ingredients. A complete list of applicable required information is below:

  • Chemical identity
  • Common name, synonyms etc. CAS number
  • Mixture
  • The chemical identity and concentration or concentration ranges of all ingredients which are hazardous within the meaning of the GHS and are present above their cut-off levels.
  • Cutoff level for reproductive toxicity, carcinogenicity and category 1 mutagenicity is > 0.1 percent
  • Cutoff level for all other hazard classes is > 1 percent
