OSHA Requirements and Asbestos

Tuesday, August 3, 2010 by August Mack Environmental, Inc.

According the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), building owners and managers are required to control or eliminate potential asbestos exposures to building occupants, including employees or contractors. However, the OSHA standards do not require building owners to inspect their facilities for asbestos containing materials (ACMs), but some materials are presumed to be ACMs due to the building age.

If you have any questions regarding whether or not ACMs might be present in your building, call August Mack Environmental at 800.579.0770 and one of environmental due diligence experts will assist you.
