Here at August Mack Environmental, we believe in a four step approach to implementing sustainable business strategies. In my last post on sustainability solutions, I outlined our four step approach. Today, I want to focus on the first step in this process: Sustainability Baseline Assessment.
The first step in our approach, the Sustainability Baseline Assessment, is a one-time assessment that is necessary to quantify key sustainability parameters which will help establish areas where sustainability efforts should be focused in the future as well as determine the metrics to evaluate future performance.
During a sustainability baseline assessment, the following areas may be considered:
- Production Data
- Raw Materials
- Environmental Discharges
- Energy Usage and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions
- Social Progress and Workplace Health and Safety
