What is the Focus of GHS?

Friday, October 8, 2010 by August Mack Environmental, Inc.

The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) is focused on the following:

  • Defining health, physical and environmental hazards of chemicals
  • Creating classification processes that use available data on chemicals for comparison with the defined hazard criteria
  • Communicating hazard information as well as protective measures, on labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
If you have any questions related to GHS, call August Mack Environmental at 800.579.0770 and ask to speak to an environmental compliance technician.
