If you are like many companies, the person wearing the "compliance
hat" has many other duties. Environmental Compliance Programs
are many times just a "side job" to the person's primary job
function. If this is you, consider August Mack's Compliance
Assurance Program to provide the assistance that is needed to
ensure compliance. Call me at 317.916.3105 (Tom
Anderson).
Industrial facilities in Ohio with a
general storm water permit: The renewal general permit is being
reviewed for issuance. Once you hear from the Ohio EPA you will
probably have to go through the process of reviewing, updating, or
creating a new Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. If you need
assistance in this process, call August Mack's Ohio office at
614.798.9922 and ask for Ben Thayer. Or feel free to call me (Tom
Anderson) at 317.916.3105.

becoming more environmentally-focused by the minute, environmental,
health and safety (EH&S) compliance is becoming a high priority
for every business. While the benefits of achieving and maintaining
compliance from a regulatory standpoint are important, workplace
compliance also is...

take their institutional knowledge, or the knowledge they have
gained from years of experience, with them. If the company is not
able to remain in compliance with the myriad of regulations,
potential monetary fines from environmental agencies may be in

effects of losing institutional knowledge regarding environmental
compliance.

There are two ways to help the
bottom line...spend less or make more. Let's talk about spending
less. Several ways to spend less are to buy less or get a better
deal on the things you are buying. But one area where a facility
could end up spending money that can be unpredictable is if you had
to pay a monetary fine for violating an US EPA or state
environmental regulation. These monetary fines can be
