Below are five types of same level falls you should be aware of in your facility, according to a 2006 publication by Gary S. Nelson and Jason T. English of Nelson and Associates:
 

  • Slip - Loss of friction (liquids, ice)
  • Trip - Unseen object in walkway
  • Stump - Protrusion in walkway
  • Step-down - Depression or hole in the walkway
  • Forced Rotation - Turn an ankle while stepping
