On October 30, 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published the Final Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) Rule in the Federal Register. The EPA has developed this rule in accordance with the FY2008 Consolidated Appropriations Act in an effort to obtain accurate and comprehensive data on GHG emissions. The EPA anticipates this new rule will apply to more than 10,000 facilities.
The Final Mandatory Reporting of GHG Rule states that: “suppliers of fossil fuels or industrial greenhouse gases, manufacturers of vehicles and engines, and facilities that emit 25,000 metric tons or more per year of GHG emissions are required to submit annual reports to EPA. The gases covered by the proposed rule are carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), perfluorocarbons (PFC), sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), and other fluorinated gases including nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) and hydrofluorinated ethers (HFE).”
During this webinar, a GHG expert from August Mack will discuss how to determine if the rule is applicable to your facility and the necessary steps required to comply with this new regulation. The webinar will also highlight the recent discussions regarding the future regulation of GHG.
