Soil and groundwater investigations can be conducted using a variety of tools, from basic hand-sampling equipment to large drilling rigs capable of collecting samples from hundreds of feet below the surface. This webinar will de-mystify the subsurface investigation process by describing the equipment and tools, and identifying the rationale for using the various techniques. Advantages and disadvantages of the various investigation approaches will be discussed, including direct-push sampling, hollow-stem auger drilling and rotosonic drilling. In addition, we will discuss “the basics” of groundwater sampling and provide a discussion of the various approaches.
