Engineer a Solution to Minimize Waste

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 by Tom Anderson
Hospitals used to be one of the biggest contributors to mercury in the environment. Some hospital equipment contained mercury as a component. So how do you minimize mercury from hospitals? Eliminate it at the source and that's what hospitals and equipment suppliers have been doing. Case in point, you don't see any of the old mercury thermometers being used at the hospital anymore. When looking for ways to minimize waste, always try to look at the source and see if you can engineer a potential solution. Work with your suppliers to help find solutions.
