During a Phase One Environmental Site Assessment, a variety of non-scope considerations may be highlighted by your consultant. One of these non-scopes considerations is likely to be radon.
Radon comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you breathe. It is a radioactive carcinogen and can be found all over the U.S. and it can get into any type of building — homes, offices, and schools — and result in a high indoor radon level. You cannot see, smell, or taste radon.
Radon levels can be decrease with the installation of a radon reduction or mitigation systems.
