What is Ecosystem Capital? Natural and managed ecosystems can provide people all over the world with goods and services. The world's economy heavily depends on many renewable resources. The goods we gain from the different ecosystems range from the food we eat to the fuel we use in our cars. Unbeknownst to many people, the ecosystems provide essential services, as well. Breaking down waste and controlling erosion are only a few of the services the ecosystem has to offer. These life-sustaining goods and services are known as Ecosystem Capital.
