We asked one of our high school
interns who shows a strong interest in art and design to develop a
"Go Green" graphic putting her own touch on it. We hope to display
future graphics and artwork from our budding artist!
One of the best ways to save
energy in the winter is to lower the temperature on your
thermostat. Just lowering the temperature a few degrees can
substantially reduce your energy consumption throughout the winter
months. Just dress a little warmer and reduce your energy
consumption and subsequent monthly bill.

The first step for any company
that wants to "go green" should be to ensure that they are in
compliance with all of the existing environmental laws and
regulations. How do you confirm your compliance.......
perform an environmental audit. You'd be surprised how many
companies are doing wonderful things for the environment but are
inadvertantly violating existing environmental regulations.
Green jobs are wonderful for the economy and good for the
environment. But green jobs do not mean there are not hazards
associated with doing them. OSHA has also recognized this issue and

Everyone has great ideas of what
other people should do. But what are you doing? Feel free to post

August Mack employees have ridden their bikes to work. I believe
they were doing it for the health benefits but that also helps in
the "go green" movement since they would have driven their cars
otherwise.

A group of nine August Mack
employees had to visit a job site earlier this week. Many times in
the past, everyone would have piled into their individual cars and
met at the job site since they were coming to the site directly
from home. But with a little planning, everyone met and took two
cars instead of nine cars. The trip was 86 miles round trip so
doing a few calculations, the total reduction in gasoline was 33.4
gallons assuming the seven cars would have averaged 18 mpg. Not a
