Set Some Personal Goals to Be More Green

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 by Sustainable Solutions Team
To maximize your success at going green, both companies and people need to commit to goals. If your company hasn't set a goal to become more environmentally friendly, then do your part to make whatever impact you can have. August Mack is fortunate in that many things we do ends up helping the environment.

And for our employees part, a few associates in our company have ridden their bikes to work occasionally.... in lieu of driving their cars. One such employee let us know that it saves him about two gallons of gas when he rides his bike to work. That's a sustainability solution with several benefits:

1) Prevented the usage of two gallons of gas.

2) Saved employee $6.90 in gas money.

3) Provided a health benefit of exercise to the employee while burning approximately 1,000 calories.

Set some personal goals for yourself! Don't wait for others or blame companies for not doing enough. Start by doing what you can do!!!
