Phase 1 Site
Assessments are done for a number of reasons. Below are
common examples of why you would order a Phase 1:
- Purchase of real property (property or personal
property) by a person or entity not previously on title
- Contemplation by a new lender to provide a loan on the subject
real estate
- Partnership buyout or principal redistribution of
ownership
- Application to a public agency for change of use or other
discretionary land use permit
- Existing property owner's desire to understand toxic...

Hiring an environmental compliance
consultant will add credibility to your result in
the eyes of your external stakeholders. These individuals or firms
usually have an already established relationship with the
environmental governing bodies and are knowledgeable in how to
submit reports correctly.
If you suspect a violation may be present or you become aware that
a facility should have been complying with a law but has not, a
consultant can come in and offer environmental compliance
solutions.

as one of the largest tire fires in the state’s history and would
take approximately 250 firefighters three weeks to
extinguish.
The former tire collection facility is situated on 140
acres located in Sycamore, Ohio. The scrap tire facility started
collecting tires in the 1950s and, at the time of the fire,

reviewed for issuance. Once you hear from the Ohio EPA you will
probably have to go through the process of reviewing, updating, or
creating a new Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. If you need
assistance in this process, call August Mack's Ohio office at
614.798.9922 and ask for Ben Thayer. Or feel free to call me (Tom
Anderson) at 317.916.3105.

A man in
Auburn, Washington disregarded Clean Air Act regulations by
knowingly letting untrained workers remove asbestos from a
building. He ended up with a 30-day prison sentence and a
$100,000 fine. Don’t let this happen to
you! If you have asbestos that needs to be removed
let the experts handle it. It is not only illegal but also
hazardous to human health if someone other than a certified
professional removes asbestos. This is because once asbestos
fibers get into the air they can be...

We get asked a lot..... "what all
does your company do?". It is not a simple answer because we
do LOTS of stuff. So maybe a better answer over the next several
weeks is to describe all the jobs (usually 5-6) that we are awarded
in any given day. So here is a typical day of projects that were
awarded to August Mack Environmental on one specific day
in late February:
- Management and oversight of an asbestos abatement
project
- Site visit for compliance review
- Phase I update
- Air sampling for lead (Pb)
- Soil...

The
EPA's Toxics Release Inventory (TRI)
Program requires that industries report annually on
the release of over 600 toxic chemicals. These chemicals are
released to the air, land, and/or water. The reports
are posted online for the public to view so that communities can
see what is being released into their environments. To learn
more about reporting or viewing TRI data, visit the EPA's TRI
Program webpage by clicking
