Over the years I have audited
hundreds of facilities. I've audited hospitals,
foundries, chemical plants, tank fabricators and many
other facilities. Even though many of the required
environmental regulations have been in place for many years, a lot
of facilities still are not complying with the requirements. After
talking with the personnel at the facility I gain an understanding
of why they are not adhering to the regulations. In the vast
majority of cases, it is nothing more than they didn't...
Two devices that measure noise
exposure include a sound level meter and the dosimeter. A sound
level meter measures the intensity of sound at a given moment. A
dosimeter is like a sound level meter except it stores sound level
measurements and integrates these measurements over time. This
provides an average noise exposure reading for a given period of
